ADULT BIBLE CLASS
Blessed are the meek? Blessed are the doormats or the milquetoast weaklings who are eaten alive in this world? Is that what Jesus means? Jesus says real men are meek. What does he mean by that? Come find out in Bible Class at 9:00 AM today.

What is really behind the “Ground Zero Mosque”? Is this a question of religious rights and tolerance or is there a more sinister reason for building this mosque? What is Islam all about? We will answer these questions and many more as we look into “The Challenge of Islam” starting Thursday, September 30, at 7:00 PM.

Beginning September 1, Wednesday Evening Prayer Service will be held every Wednesday in the youth room in the Education Building from 7:30-8:00 PM. This will be a time of worship and intercessory prayer.

“I Have Good News For You” – Bible class will begin on September 12 at 6:30 PM. IHGNY is a great Bible Study on the basic doctrines of the Bible. This class is for people seeking to know God better and for those who wish to become members of the congregation. We will meet two Sundays a month from 6:30-8:30 PM. In September we will meet on the 12th and the 26th.

Seventh grade communion class will be held on Oct 3 with a make-up date of Oct 17. All seventh graders and parents are asked to attend. The seventh graders who complete the Communion class will receive their first communion on Reformation Sunday October 31.

HUDDLE GROUP VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We need one more person or a couple to volunteer as a huddle group leader. It’s easy; it’s fun; it’s important! And it only takes 15 minutes of your time on Wednesday evenings. Contact Valerie Wham or Kristie Brich to volunteer!

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED
In September we need volunteers on three Wednesdays (September 8, 22 and 29) during after-care time from 4:15-5:15 PM to help the Jesus Co. kids assemble the mission blankets that they will be sending to World Vision. To volunteer, please contact Valerie Wham at 545-3119 or cvwham@gmail.com.

CELEBRATE THE REFORMATION
The Luther 500 Festival is an eight-day cultural immersion experience that brings the Reformation to life as you serve, learn and celebrate in the places where Martin Luther did the same 500 years ago. This pilgrimage to Germany will revitalize your school or congregation as participants come face to face with the breadth and importance of the Reformation, make new friends, connect with their heritage, and experience firsthand how Church history can be a whole lot of fun. Prepare to be transformed and reformed. When? June 20-26. Where? Wittenberg, Germany. How Much? $700 (really!). Who? You, along with Pastor and Eileen, and a bunch of other Lutherans who love Jesus. (Kids under 18 must be accompanied by a parent.) Want more info? www.luther500-festival.com
